Proud Mom Moment

Yesterday our neighbour's 3-year old boy came over for an hour to play with Marisa.

Marisa and I were colouring on the dining room table. Danielle was playing with this little toy gate (actually Marisa's) when Nathan decided he wanted it so he took it away and put it in the compartment of the big car he was playing with.

Marisa says to me, "Mommy, why did Nathan do that. Why did he take that away from Danielle". Danielle didn't seem upset by it and in fact starting crawling after him for it. I told Marisa that since Danielle didn't seem upset to not worry about it. Marisa continues to watch and says, "But mommy, I really think Danielle wants it". She said this a couple of times. So I looked at her and said, "Did you want to go get it". She says yes.

I move so she can get up and off she goes all confident and brave. She opens the compartment of the car, takes it in her hand and walks over to Danielle and gives it to her. Nathan just watched and did nothing.

I must say that moments like this is when you feel like you're doing a good job raising your kids! I was so proud of her! :-)
