On Friday, April 20th, I took a plane to New York. I stayed with one of my good friends in my Feb03 online internet group (Marisa's pregnancy group). Yes, a bunch of us who all have babies born in February 2003 (of course mine had to be 2 weeks late and come in March). This was the first time I met this buddy of mine (who I felt like I've known for years, when in fact it's only been 5 years).
The other buddy that came who I call Princess (my Vegas roomie of 2 years ago) I met for the 2nd time now. Of course she was also my NY roomie (we stayed in very nice and comfortable basement - no it wasn't a dungeon or anything). They're both Americans but I can't hold that against them..... ;-)
I must say it was not hard to leave home, unlike when I left to go to Vegas. In fact, when I finally booked my trip, I did this happy dance that really pissed off Marisa (oops). I can't say it was the first time I left my Danielle - poor little one has been away from mom lots already.
New York was amazing. My friend in NY and her family were so hospitable. It was a fun and relaxing trip. I came back a new (and tougher) mom! :-) Here are some pictures ("Feb03 in New York" - slideshow works best):

I must admit that Marisa, who was really sad about my leaving did really well without me. And this truly makes me feel good. She had a special time with daddy and really grew up while I was gone. Even Danielle, my little 1-year old, matured while I was gone. I left a baby and came back to a toddler....and I'm not talking about her walking which she's been doing since 9 months.

Well, this trip was far too short (only 2 nights), and I was back in Toronto at about 1pm Sunday. Next time, I'll be going for 3 nights......minimum!!! :-)
