Mom's Brag about Marisa's School Open House & Social

Tonight was my big girl, Marisa's, school open house where we get to meet with her teachers, see her classroom, meet some friends and their parents, enjoy a bookfair where we get the option to spend money, and buy some snacks.

Mark and I have always been proud of Marisa since her pre-school. Her pre-school teachers used to tell us over a year ago how far advanced she was. I must say it was nice to hear. What was even nicer is when you here how well-behaved your child is and how well she listens.

Well, tonight we heard more of the same. Of course at drop-offs/pick-ups you sometimes have an opportuinity to speak to the JK teacher. So speaking to the teacher tonight probably wasn't a necessity. But who doesn't want to hear great things about their kids?!

Marisa's teacher told us that she is absolutely amazed at Marisa's fine motor skills. She told us to take a close look at her drawings on the wall and then to look at the others, including the SK kids...they don't compare. Her details on her drawings are superior to her age. She often emphases on this, as have others, so Marisa will be starting Drawing Classes once a week starting this Tuesday. Why not explore any hidden talents, right?! She added how well Marisa can write her name and how well she recognizes it and other letters. Again, she mentioned how many senior kindergarten kids are unable to write their name.

We also met the Music and Gym teacher. Both lovely ladies with lots more positive feedback about Marisa.

Marisa is happy and loves school. Marisa’s closest friends are: Maryum, Sydney and Jasper (all SK), all whom we got to meet with tonight. The teachers said that Marisa is shy and a bit quiet when needing to speak or do something out loud but does it regardless. I wonder how long it'll be before they tell her to stop talking! I remember at pre-school how quickly and how much she came out of her shell. Ha! Good luck to them! :-)

We’re proud of our Sunshine. She really has grown up this past summer! It now shows! Thanks for listening (and reading) mom's brag! :-)
