Life Really Is Simple

After 3 1/2 years of being out of the workforce (the law firm downtown), I am now in my third week back. While I am absolutely loving it, there are certainly challenges, physically and mentally. Physical being my upper body problems that I continue to seek weekly physical therapy for and mentally being away from my two girls.

Of course, I now appreciate my precious children more since I actually leave them for more than 2 hours at a time. I ensure to spend quality time doing something with them (other than tucking them both in at night). It appears that this change, while an adjustment for everyone, is already reaping the benefits.

Tonight one of Marisa and Danielle's favourite shows was on that we may catch once a week, if that. The television volume was off while we were playing. Dad was out. Nana was working in the kitchen. As we were playing, we noticed what was on. We all stopped looking disappointed ... obviously feeling conflicted.

So I ask the big question, "Do you want to watch this or keep playing". I am happy to report the answer was to keep playing. What an amazing feeling!

I must admit I am enjoying how my girls miss and appreciate me. How can you not enjoy the endless kisses from sweet Danielle saying, "Mommy, I lub you"...even without my prompting.

I believe everything really does happen for a reason, but sometimes it can be hard to remember that. The past couple of months have been full of change, and really, it continues to be a really big adjustment for everyone, Mark, myself, my girls, and Nana too (my mom).

Through it all I am completely aware of just how blessed I am. Life really is simple.

Always believe!
